iLoveTempDrive is a free temporary file sharing tool that lets you create private drives for short, zero-trace file transfers between devices. You create a drive, get a four-character drive ID and a numeric password, and anyone you give those two things to can open the same drive and pick up the files.
There is no account, no email address and no app to install. Because every drive deletes itself on a timer, iLoveTempDrive is built for the handoff you do not want to keep: moving a file from a phone to a desktop, passing a document to someone sitting next to you, or getting something off a borrowed computer without leaving it in a download folder or a chat history.
For a longer walkthrough with screenshots, read the guide to using iLoveTempDrive, or read more about how temporary file sharing compares to ordinary file hosting.
Moving a photo, video or PDF between your own devices without emailing it to yourself or plugging in a cable.
Read two short codes out loud instead of collecting an email address or adding somebody to a shared folder.
Pull a file down on a library, hotel or office machine without signing into a personal cloud account on it.
Anything that should not sit in a chat thread or a cloud drive indefinitely, because the drive removes it for you.
Rooms start with 30 minutes of access and can be extended in 30-minute steps up to 5 hours max. Files are automatically purged when the timer ends.
No account, registration, or app installation is required to use iLoveTempDrive.
A single drive holds up to 1 GiB. Uploads go directly to object storage rather than through the web server, so large files transfer at the speed of your own connection.
No. Expiry is permanent and deletion is the point of the product, so keep your own copy of anything you still need. Extend the drive before the timer runs out if you need more time.
Anyone holding both the drive ID and the password. Treat them together as one secret, share them only with the person receiving the files, and delete the drive yourself as soon as the transfer is done if you want it gone sooner.
